When to use it
You're setting up HubSpot sequences and the drafts either sound like everyone else's outbound or take an hour per segment. This produces a solid draft you edit, not copy blind.
The prompt
Write a 4-step outbound email sequence for HubSpot. Context: we sell [WHAT YOU SELL] to [ROLE] at [COMPANY TYPE]. The problem we solve for them: [PROBLEM IN THEIR WORDS]. Proof we can point to: [CASE STUDY / METRIC / CUSTOMER]. Rules: emails 1–3 are 60–90 words; email 4 is a two-line breakup. One idea per email. No 'I hope this finds you well', no 'quick question' subject lines, no exclamation marks. Each email needs one [PERSONALISATION] slot with a note on what the rep should insert and where to find it (LinkedIn, their website, recent news). Subject lines: 3–5 words, lowercase, specific. Include send-delay recommendations between steps. After the sequence, list the 3 assumptions you made that I should verify.
How to use it
- 1Fill the placeholders — the 'problem in their words' line does most of the work.
- 2Edit the drafts for your voice; cut anything you wouldn't say on a call.
- 3Build in HubSpot Sequences with the recommended delays.
- 4A/B the first subject line, keep the rest stable until you have data.
Tips
- One sequence per segment beats one sequence with generic personalisation slots.
- The breakup email usually gets the highest reply rate — don't skip step 4.
- Check the assumptions list — that's where generic-sounding copy comes from.
